After getting my Baccalaur\u00e9at en Sciences \u00e9conomiques et sociales (equivalent to a post-secondary degree specialized in Economics and Social sciences<\/strong>), I continued my studies in University by pursuing the Licence en Langues \u00e9trang\u00e8res appliqu\u00e9es (equivalent to Bachelor\u2019s Degree in foreign languages<\/strong>) specialized in communications and translation (in French, English, and German).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Although studies interested me, I quickly wanted to move from theory to practice by integrating myself into the professional life in order to acquire my financial autonomy. The Australian experience: Transition into adulthood <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

After my University studies<\/strong>, I decided to go on an adventure to the other side of the world to cultivate my independence, discover new horizons, and learn more about myself.<\/p>

I took the decision to leave all by myself to live in Australia<\/strong> for almost 2 years<\/strong>, with less than 1,200 euros in my pocket, an almost blank CV, and a basic knowledge of English at the time.<\/p>

Some would call it a major challenge, but it was definitely a great experience for me, because it allowed me to discover this beautiful country while teaching me essential qualities required in the professional world for which I was preparing. Qualities such as fluency in English<\/strong>, the ability to build a network<\/strong>, autonomy<\/strong>, or even stress management <\/strong>to cope with pressure.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As soon as I got there, I actually found myself with my back to the wall. Although I was itching to explore the beautiful beaches and nature, I had to find a job very quickly, which meant breaking the ice to get to know resourceful people that could assist me.<\/p>

During these two years, I successively worked on farms<\/strong>, then in gas stations<\/strong> in the middle of the Australian Outback. The pay was pretty good due to the lack of manpower in these remote areas. With the money earned, I took the opportunity to tour this vast and magnificent continent.<\/p>

This experience was, in the end, a great success, because it allowed me to gain maturity, to discover a beautiful country that will forever be etched in my memory, and to meet great people from all over the world.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Canadian experience: A difficult start<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

At the beginning of 2010, I decided to try the Canadian experience<\/strong>. A country I knew very little about, but from which I had heard many beautiful things.<\/p>

From the first days, however, I had a feeling of deja vu, because I had decided to settle there alone with very little money in my pocket. The pressure at the start of this experience was therefore palpable, but reduced given that I had successfully taken up this challenge of \"integration into unknown territory\" a few years earlier. The climate was, however, completely new and quite frightening.<\/p>

My first relevant work experience in Montreal was a translation <\/strong>project of a few hundred pages from German to French for the Quebec's Centre of Expertise In Ornamental Horticulture<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Although challenging given the fact that it dealt with a theme that was a far cry from my area of \u200b\u200bexpertise, I nevertheless accepted to take on this project. All I can say is that it was extremely enriching, because it allowed me to learn a lot on this subject while solidifying my autonomy <\/strong>and rigor <\/strong> by working remotely from home, and without any support.<\/p>

At the end of this contract, I took on a few unqualified jobs while trying to find out what my next professional challenge would be. However, the situation was very uncertain, because I was aware that my temporary work visa would expire soon, and that I would at some point be forced to leave this country that I had started to really appreciate.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I joined Rogers Communications Inc <\/strong> in 2012 as Customer Relations representative<\/strong>. This position was interesting, since it taught me certain essential skills such as negotiation <\/strong>, empathy<\/strong>, or even force of persuasion<\/strong>. What I liked most about this job was that it allowed me to provide various and essential support (technical, pricing policy, etc.) to clients generally disappointed with the company.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As soon as I started to excel in my job, and after obtaining my permanent resident status which gave me more flexibility in choosing a job, I had the desire to learn new things and finally orient myself towards my true passion: Communications.
